Carpet Chameleon - drunk, Pyreras Reserve, Madagascar
Meet Furcifer lateralis, the Carpet Chameleon. Although these 2 individuals are *relatively* dull, many would consider this the most beautiful species of chameleon. Just enter it in image search and you will soon see why. In particular the female is wildly variable in color. Combined with their very fine granular pattern, it does make for a wild carpet.
This is one of the chameleon species to change color based on mood, environment and time of day.

''Furcifer lateralis'', also known as the carpet chameleon or the white-lined chameleon, is a species of chameleon that is endemic to Madagascar. It was described in 1831 by John Edward Gray.
