Jewelled chameleon - overtaking, Pyreras Reserve, Madagascar After lots of driving to make way from Ranomafana to Andasibe, we came by this almost mandatory stop: Pyreras. <br />

Pyreras is a small private reserve (zoo) that gives close access to a wide array of remarkable Madagascar reptiles, frogs and other animals, including some you will unlikely find in the wild.<br />

This chameleon species can be recognized by the 3 lateral stripes across the body, alternated with numerous small bright-coloured spots. The top of the head typically has additional spot-like decorations in another color. Coloring is variable. If I remember correctly, the bright one is the female.<br />
