Cultivated in the garden of our lodge near Ranomafana NP.
Let me tell you that in hindsight, I hate this. It is truly absurd how in Madagascar, where 83% of plant life is endemic, one would chose to cultivate some random decorative plant from the other side of the world. It takes more effort, is not more attractive, is worse for insect life, and just generally makes zero sense.

''Agave decipiens'', common names False Sisal or Florida agave, is a plant species endemic to coastal Florida though cultivated as an ornamental in other regions. The species is reported naturalized in Spain, India, Pakistan, and South Africa.
Some authors have suggested that material from Central America and from the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico might be of the same species as ''A. decipiens.'' Gentry and Zona, however, discounted this possibility, regarding this non-Floridian material.. more
