Common myna - perched and signing, Ranomafana, Madagascar After two days at the Ranomafana camp site, we returned to our lodge where as per usual, common mynas were dominating the local bird population. Here it is perched at a Traveler&#039;s Palm. <br />

        1. There's nothing impressive about this one, I was sitting on a little bench in front of our lodge, holding the camera and lens on my knee whilst using the flip screen. With the long lens, handheld video really is impossible to hold still enough. Posted 5 years ago

The common myna, sometimes spelled mynah, also sometimes known as "Indian myna", is a member of the family Sturnidae native to Asia. An omnivorous open woodland bird with a strong territorial instinct, the myna has adapted extremely well to urban environments.
