A flighty tiger beetle from Sri Lanka

We saw several of these flighty little beetles in the Sri Lanka lowland rainforests. At one point we were trying to take photos of a very small snake and one of these tiger beetles repeatedly flew up and photo-bombed our session. The nerve!

  Thanks! I agree -- I have tried to photograph many tiger beetles over the years and ended up with only a few mediocre photos. For some reason this species, though still flighty, was more willing to stay in one place and let my camera approach. I ended up with good photos of at least three individuals. Posted 5 years ago
