Wingspan about 5cm. Overall greyish with black bands that have a yellow outline. Slightly worn.

Gauna sp. looks similar, but unsure if it occurs in MDG.

  1. Looks like it should be *easy*, but definitely isn't. The color of the hindwings makes me wonder if it could be an underwing (Erebidae)? Or, maybe a similar genus to Umkulunkula or Endotricha? But, really, I don't know. Posted 5 years ago
    1. This one seems worn and probably faded, combined with a strange wing position it makes this one very hard indeed! I have not found something close yet but Umkulunkula is an awesome name for a genus :) Subfamily Pyralinae also has a few somewhat look-a-likes....but not really. Posted 5 years ago
