    Wow this one is impressive. And given the 62mm you really were up close! I bet it was a bit on the scary side, they might suddenly take off and though not touching you still give you goosebumps. I once met a few in a nightcache in a small cave and I was jumpy some time after that:)

    1. hi Ludo, yes this was quite close. I was standing in its dorm which is about 1 meter by 1 meter and we were fully inside. Still, it was quite calm, nothing to worry about. Furthermore, I'm very selective in what things I'm scared of. I may freak out from a little spider yet not blink when being inches away from a snake. I can't explain it. Posted 12 years ago

The Madagascan rousette or Madagascar rousette is a species of megabat in the Pteropodidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
