Madagascan Rousette (Rousettus madagascariensis) This is a giant fruit bat (also called megabat) that is endemic to Madagscar. As you can see it has fairly large eyes so it actually does have pretty good vision, unlike other bat families. Unfortunately, large bats like these are on the diet of the Malagasy people during food shortages. Madagascan Rousette (Rousettus madagascariensis)

The Madagascan rousette or Madagascar rousette is a species of megabat in the Pteropodidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
