Close-up of a Knuckles Bent-toed Gecko First we hiked up a long trail to the top of some rocky cliffs, and peered over various death-defying precipices looking for this species. We found one and got medium-distance photos. Then we hiked back to our car, parked in the visitor center parking lot, and found this one on the wall of the visitor center. 1. Haha classic story! You just need to find the species once, no matter how long it takes, and then you'll be finding them underfoot all over the place! Posted one month ago
    1. I know that feeling too. At Kirindy, Madagascar I was thrilled to find the white-breasted mesite. Being super careful not to spook off this rare bird in the forest. Taking an hour to corner it for a photo. The day after, it simply passed our lodge when we sat on the porch. As if just a chicken. Posted one month ago
      1. I almost spat out my drink when reading "As if just a chicken", ha!

Thibaud, ain't that the truth. But obviously much better than not finding that first one.

Much better to see them twice indeed!
