Black-spotted Kangaroo Lizard: Lizard? Or leaf? (Or kangaroo?)
These lizards are fairly common in their range, but not easy to see during the day because they closely match the color of the leaf litter they hang out in, and tend not to move unless approached very closely. At night they climb into vegetation and are much easier to find.

The Black-spotted Kangaroo Lizard or Black-patched Kangaroo Lizard, Otocryptis nigristigma, is a smallish, ground-dwelling agamid lizard endemic to Sri Lanka. When disturbed, they sometimes run, sometimes hop propelled by their very long back legs, thus earning the name "kangaroo lizard".
