Came across a couple of these Tall Northern Green Orchid fruiting (Platanthera aquilonis) along the shore of Chan Lake, Chan Lake Territorial Park, Northwest Territories, Canada.

      1. There's always Platanthera aquilonis or Platanthera huronensis as possibilities. When I first saw your photo I thought it might be Platanthera clavellata but I'm not able to see any spur remnants which usually remain on spent flowers and it has more than one primary leaf.   2. Platanthera aquilonis is the only one that occurs in the Northwest Territories...so I will go with ID. Thank you very much Gary for the help. Posted 5 years ago

Platanthera aquilonis, commonly called North Wind Bog Orchid, is widely distributed throughout western and central Canada, Alaska, the western and northern United States, as well as in the northern mid-Atlantic and New England. It produces an inflorescence of a few to many small, yellowish green flowers with an elongated, tapered labellum. The leaves along its stem taper to bracts near the flowers. It can be found in moist meadows, marshes, fens, and bogs, as well as along roadsides and riverbanks... more
