Nyctixalus pictus, Spotted Tree Frog This small, unmistakable tree frog occurs predominantly in primary forest, from sea level up to 1750 metres altitude. Nocturnal in habit, it frequents low vegetation where it waits for insects and other prey. Its eggs are laid in tree cavities, where the young tadpoles are able to develop in safety.<br />

The dorsal colour of this attractive frog ranges from orange to brown, flecked with tiny white spots, and the ventral surface is paler. <br />
<br />
The species ranges from southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia to Singapore, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippine island of Palawan.<br />
