
Lesser Scaup Family
Late in the summer this family is far North on Frame Lake, the Lesser Scaup (Aythya affinis) female is with her three ducklings at Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. Conservation Status: vulnerable (S3B) in Northwest Territories, CA (NatureServe).

The lesser scaup is a small North American diving duck that migrates south as far as Central America in winter. It is colloquially known as the little bluebill or broadbill because of its distinctive blue bill.
