Seemingly not as a coincidence because a little later we found a second individual in the same hiding situation. Two experts so far have ID-ed it as Boophis reticulatus, or a very similar looking undescribed species, of which there are several in Madagascar. So consider this a tenattive ID.<br /> <br /> To give you an idea of the amphibian endemism of Madagascar: out of the 300+ species described, a whopping 2 are not endemic. The Reticulate Bright-eyed Frog

''Boophis reticulatus'' is a species of frog in the family Mantellidae. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss.
