  1. Beautiful Nymphalid! Your ID looks pretty good from what I can tell? <3 Looks like I may have to do another Nymphalidae slideshow this winter! <3 Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thanks! The alignment and size of the "eyes" seem a perfect match. Yet only for that single reference photo. Plus, I did see a few look-a-likes. Many also have this broad wavy dark brown band. Posted 6 years ago
    2. Oh and on butterflies, or lepidoptera in general...I think it is inevitable that it will become the biggest group, a position currently held by birds. Posted 6 years ago
  2. I wonder if that cylindrical thing on the branch (to the right of the butterfly) is part of the plant or if it could be a cocoon. Posted 6 years ago
    1. Hmmm, not entirely sure. The bottom suggests it's a snapped branch but it definitely could be something I overlooked, which is easy to do in a jungle :) Posted 6 years ago
      1. True. You nearly just crushed my fascination with it. But, I will keep imagining it to be a cocoon :) Posted 6 years ago
