    1. There are a lot of these in northern Minnesota. Some are bare sun-scorched rocks but others have weird little
      forests on them. I got to scramble across two of them a few times this summer. Slow going and I covered a quarter-mile in three hours on one ( but I was stopping a lot to look at things).

      1. It does look fairly treacherous for hiking. I can't say that I've seen anything similar to this, but it is super fascinating and looks like everything just got squished together and piled up on each other. Very unique. Posted 6 years ago
