Wasp mimicking fly - Xanthogramma dives Xanthogramma dives female. In Europe occurs 3 very similar species (dives, stackelbergi and pedissequum). Differences between these species are yellow marks on pleurae, pedissequum has only 1-2 yellow marks (usually one yellow mark) and dives/stackelbergi has 3 or more. Only X. dives has darkened apex of the wing, as on this photo. X. stackelbergi has different shape of yellow marks on tergites and doesn't have darkened apex. (Thanks Mihailo D.
