Madagascar Crested Drongo - perched, Kirindy Reserve, Madagascar
A common bird in Madagascar, easy to recognize by its crest and forked tail. It is locally sometimes called the "King of Birds", referring to its aggressive behavior where it mobs large birds and even mammals. Birders may know it as a source of frequent disappointment. This bird has an incredible array of vocalizations, some of which sound exactly like other birds. So often a tedious and long effort may result in...."oh, it's only a **** drongo".
Mess with the crest, suffer like the rest.
