
Downy Rattlesnake Plantain - Goodyera pubescens
Green variegated leaves. it was approximately 12-13 cm in size. Some say that, when in bloom, the flower spike resembles a pine cone.
Habitat: Deciduous forest.
**Note: I am so bummed that I didn't notice those tiny, brownish cup fungi (right side of photo, on twig)!!

"Goodyera pubescens", the downy rattlesnake plantain, is one of the most common orchids native to eastern North America. It is found from Florida to Nova Scotia, west to eastern Oklahoma, Minnesota and Ontario.
