Christmas Fern Spores - Polystichum acrostichoides I&#039;m trying to understand the structure of ferns, so I may have this wrong... These little, donut-shaped structures are called indusium. They cover the sori, which are composed of many sporangia that, in turn, contain the plant&rsquo;s spores.<br />

I'm trying to understand the structure of ferns, so I may have this wrong... These little, donut-shaped structures are called indusium. They cover the sori, which are composed of many sporangia that, in turn, contain the plant’s spores.
