
Ocelot gecko - head, Kirindy Reserve, Madagascar
Known by various other common names: Madagascar ground gecko, Malagasy fat-tailed gecko, fat-headed gecko, or panther gecko.
Fat-headed does describe it best. We stumbled upon this in Kirindy at night when making way back to camp. It is a gecko that is able to climb, yet typically found in leaf litter.

The ocelot gecko is a nocturnal ground-dwelling gecko found in leaf litter in Madagascar forests, and is also a popular pet. It is sometimes known as the Madagascar ground gecko, Malagasy fat-tailed gecko, fat-headed gecko', or panther gecko.
