During periods of food shortages (dry season) it conserves energy using &quot;Torpor&quot;, a physical state where body temperature is decreased. These may last hours, days or weeks, depending on the shortage.<br /> <br /> It is mostly predated by owls, yet reproduces rapidly enough to keep population intact. <br /> <br /> A surprising find of this well studied animal is that they don&#039;t go about their environment based on instinct or senses alone. The Gray mouse lemur

The gray mouse lemur, or lesser mouse lemur, is a small lemur, a type of strepsirrhine primate, found only on the island of Madagascar. Weighing 58 to 67 grams, it is the largest of the mouse lemurs, a group that includes the smallest primates in the world.
