Split Second
I was going to shoot the flowers, when she came.. I saw the butterfly through my viewfinder and I knew I had to shoot it right away. When the mirror flipped down again, she was gone. I later saw the photo, and to my surprise, there she was, with spread wings, as if posing for the camera.

The "Species" information thingy is really useful, I liked it a lot, that's why now I want to tag as many as I can of my photos with the correct animal or plant =] Posted 12 years ago
It looks identical to the Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charithonia), except for the green hue on the body. For so long I have identified it as the zebra longwing, but it can be that it has a family member which does have that green hue. Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago
I don't have the raw file at hand, but I'm fairly certain that's the correct colour, if not a just more saturated. I took this in Mexico, if that makes any difference.. Posted 12 years ago
