It rained last night. This ‘shroom was identified in 2005! It is native to the Pacific Northwest of North America and has a mycorrhizal relationship with Douglas Fir and sometimes with pines. Amanita aprica is also called “Jan’s Yellow Friend”!?! Who was Jan?

''Amanita aprica'' is a species of fungus in the family Amanitaceae. Described as new to science in 2005, the species is found in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, where it grows in a mycorrhizal association with Douglas-fir and pines.
