
Smoky Idia (Idia scobialis)
At a 395nm UV light setup at the edge of a dense mixed forest.
Similar to Idia lubricalis, but the hindwing of this species has the same color and markings as the forewings. I. lubricalis usually has hindwings of a lighter shade and with indistinct markings.

The Smoky Idia is a species of litter moth of the family Erebidae. It is found from Michigan, southern Quebec and Maine, south to Florida and at least Kentucky.
The wingspan is about 20 mm. There is one generation per year.
Larvae feed on detritus, including dead leaves.
