      It is of a poor quality, but at least you can see the side :)

      1. Ferdy, I believe this beetle is Megasoma elephas, the Elephant beetle. http://hidephotography.com/getpage.php?pg=search&sr=Megasoma%20elephas

        Dynastes have a large horn on the pronotum which is lacking in Megasoma and your specimen.

Elephant Beetle are part of the Scarabaeidae family and the subfamily Dynastinae. They are classified with the Neotropical rhinoceros beetles.
