Forewings are silvery-white with brown. When viewed from above, the moth looks like it has a frowning face - with two triangular eyes and a down-curved mouth. Terminal line with 7 dark dots.

"Microcrambus elegans", the elegant grass-veneer moth, is a moth of the Crambidae family. It is found from Ontario, Quebec and Maine to Florida, west to Texas, north to Kansas and Illinois.
