
Agave desmettiana in bloom
Native to Mexico.
Evergreen succulent perennial growing in rosettes. Leaves are bright green, yellow edging with a fierce terminal red spine. Flowers sit on long stalks reaching 2.5 metres or more tall.
These flowers provide an abundance of winter nectar for the insects and birds.
