Corylus americana
Corylus americana detail of leaf base and leaf margin and stalked glandular hairs on petiole and stem. The glandular hairs on the stem persist through the winter and into the following spring. They do not occur on Beaked Hazel (Corylus cornuta) which has smooth stems or occasionally a few eglandular soft hairs.
