I think Ocypus olens is a western species, no? There are a lot of rove beetle species and they are difficult to differentiate, so maybe consider leaving this one at Staphylinidae? Maybe someone on BG could help if you post it there? Posted 6 years ago

      Not to be a naysayer, but I wonder if those IDs are verified? I don't know how iN works, so are those eastern ID's accurate or just guesses? Posted 6 years ago

        IN is more accurate than any other site I know of but you need to focus on the research grade IDs (approved by more than one high-rated other).
