  1. How's the dangling set-up working? I may try that as well because using tape with the LED strip is no good. Bugs always manage to get stuck in the tape :(. Posted 6 years ago
    1. I've only used it the one time, but it seemed to work pretty well. I just need to work on my camera and flash settings now!

      I'll let you know how it works out tonight (or tomorrow morning).

      1. I haven't been using my sheet at all lately. I've been using a white foam board though, and it seems to work well. I'll pull the sheet back out for moth week though. I'm going to try a dangling light tonight. Ferdy gave me a tip awhile back to focus on the thorax and use f10. I have been focusing on the thorax, which has helped with my focus, but I've been too lazy to change settings to manual so far ;P. Your night shots are looking really great so far though! ''Catocala dejecta'', the dejected underwing, is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is found from Massachusetts and Connecticut south through New Jersey to Florida, west to Texas and Oklahoma and north to southern Ontario.

The wingspan is 56–73 mm. Adults are on wing from June to October depending on the location.

The larvae feed on ''Carya glabra'', ''Carya ovata'' and ''Quercus'' species.
