  1. This very cute little fellow was singing his heart out, staking out his tiny territory with his loud song that sounds like 2 pebbles being rapidly knocked together. Posted 6 years ago
  2. Thibaud, hoping you can have a look at this one:

Grass Wren, Antisana Ecological Reserve, Ecuador Species discussion pending as this species will be split, see discussion here:<br />

Apparently, there's a taxonomy change where Cistothorus stellaris (on your photo) is seen as a separate species from Cistothorus platensis (on my photo, presumed):

Cistothorus stellaris is now sometimes refered to as the Northern Sedge Wren, so for now made that common name change to distinguish them.

Just wanted to double check if I handled this correctly.

    1. Yeah you got it right!
For what it's worth, ebird has kept the name Sedge wren for stellaris, and uses Grass Wren for platensis.

The sedge wren is a small and secretive passerine bird in the Troglodytidae family. It is widely distributed in North America. It is often found in wet grasslands and meadows where it nests in the tall grasses and sedges and feeds on insects. The sedge wren was formerly considered as conspecific with the non-migratory grass wren of central and South America.
