Powder lichen (Lepraria incana), Heeswijk-Dinther, Netherlands This is a large section of the bark of a tree which was entirely covered with this lichen. If I have the correct species, the dutch name is "Common Powder Crust". As you can see when you zoom in, it is ultra fine, indeed powder-like.     1. That's also how it spreads or so I've read, because it is so fine-grained, it easily breaks of and is then picked up by the wind. Posted 6 years ago
