Chocolate Tube Slime Mold - Stemonitis splendens Tall, dark brown, thin stalks with pinkish red, young sporangia on top. They were growing in dense clusters on rotting wood. Each tuft was about 15 mm tall.<br />

Chocolate Tube Slime Mold - Stemonitis splendens

Tall, dark brown, thin stalks with pinkish red, young sporangia on top. They were growing in dense clusters on rotting wood. Each tuft was about 15 mm tall.

Chocolate tube slime molds look like brown hairs growing on wood. These are clusters of stalked sporangia.
