Lesser Maple Spanworm Moth - Speranza pustularia

White moth with faint reddish-brown lines on the wings. The postmedial line is usually the most complete line, and continues onto the hindwing. The wingspan was about 25mm.

The species name "pustularia" comes from the Latin word "pustulare" (to blister). It was given this name because the third orange-ish marking along the forewing costa was thought to be reminiscent of a pustule that had broken open and leaked a trail of pus down the wing.
