Haploa confusa larva feeding on willow leaves
Haploa confusa larva feeding on Pussy Willow (Salix discolor) leaves in a restored fen (peatland). Some were also seen feeding on leaves of Meadowsweet (Spiraea alba) nearby. Although the larvae are said to feed on Hound's Tongue (Cynoglossum officinale) these were seen on species not related to Cynoglossum officinale, a species not native to North America.
