  1. On a closer inspection, this should be a spotted St. John's wort (Hypericum punctatum), which is native to the USA, but surprisingly, there is no wiki page for it. Nevertheless, there's plenty of information about it and tips on how to discriminate between the the spotted and the common St. John's wort.

St John's wort is the plant species "Hypericum perforatum", and is also known as Tipton's weed, rosin rose, goatweed, chase-devil, or Klamath weed.
