Armadillidium nasatum - ID help
This species comes in "all black" (usually males) and mottled in rows of lighter patches (mostly juveniles and females). It is not quite as cylindrical as many other Armadillidiidae, but has the epimera (littel "side wings" of the dorsal plates) slightly angled off sideways. Apart from the fairly distinct patterns of patches and the overall body shape, the scutellum ("nose triangle") is distinctly pulled forward (hence the name "nasatum") and the hind margin of the first pereonite (1st dorsal plate) is abruptly pointed backwards in a conspicuous angle, around where the epimera start.

''Armadillidium nasatum'' is a large, Britain-based species of woodlouse that has been introduced to North America, along with ''Armadillidium vulgare'' also found in other parts of Europe.
