Came to porch lights at the edge of a dense mixed (oak-hickory-pine) forest.

I still don't have my moth light setup ready, so this was a difficult one to photograph. I had to stand on my tip-toes to get to it!

"Speranza pustularia", the lesser maple spanworm, is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found from Nova Scotia to Florida, west to Mississippi, north to North Dakota and Saskatchewan.
