  1. No need to be modest, it's a really great shot. I'm not 100% sure but I think this may be a Scarlet Darter. Anybody correct me if I'm wrong. Posted 12 years ago

  3. Hi Claire! This specimen is a male Sympetrum fonscolombii, the nomad dragonfly (red veined darter). Cheers* Posted 9 years ago

The Red-veined darter or Nomad is a dragonfly of the genus "Sympetrum". It is a common species in southern Europe and from the 1990s onwards has increasingly been found in northwest Europe, including Britain and Ireland.
