
Willow Leaf Beetle - Plagiodera versicolora
Sorry for the poor photo, but I'm uploading to show the white "spots" on the elytra, which indeed appear to be debris/pollen/? rather than actual spots that are part of the elytra.
Habitat: Coniferous swamp (same exact location as original beetle...within feet)

The Willow leaf beetle is a beetle species from the family leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae). The scientific name of the species was first published in 1781 by Laicharting. The species has been imported from Europe into other continents, where it is often considered a pest.
