    1. I would guess it's because they have a tendency to densely blanket avalanche chutes and run out areas because they are relatively free of tree and shrub cover. Posted 6 years ago

"Erythronium grandiflorum" is a species of flowering plant in the lily family. It is native to western North America from to British Columbia and Alberta south to New Mexico and California, though it has not been reported from Arizona or Nevada.
