    1. That is awesome! I wouldn't dare disturb such a pretty thing intentionally though! Maybe I'm a little bit silly? :D

      What do you think about the mimicry angle? These two species were within feet of each other!

      1. By not disturbing them, you are certainly "leaving no trace". So, I think that's a good way to go about observing nature. I try not to disturb creatures either, but I like to put my hand out and see if they will climb on. I do this with moths and about 1/2 of them climb onto my hand and seem content. Salamanders too. But, I leave it up to them...

        I agree about the mimicry. There are so many beetles with this type of coloration that I would assume mimicry is a factor. In this case, I would guess mullerian because both taste yucky to potential predators.
