
Phantom Midge (Female) - Chaoborus flavicans
This midge superficially resembles a mosquito in general body shape and hairiness. But, midges have abdomens that are longer than their wings and they lack a proboscis. Mosquitoes have a proboscis and their wings are longer than their abdomens.

"Chaoborus flavicans" is a species of flies in the family Chaoboridae. It is found in the Palearctic.
