Blue-winged teals in flight - 3, Tumaco, Colombia
With this second wave of Blue-winged Teals in flight, finally our coverage of our Colombia 2018 trip has come to an end. It took 6 months to share it, and has led to 1,600 photos:

The set is twice as large as our typical set of 700-800, for a few reasons:
- Moths! (about 400 of them)
- The stunning biodiversity hot spots we attended in themselves
- Our own productivity (squeezing everything out of a day)
In terms of productivity, I don't think we can top ourselves in the future, there's just not more time in a day, but you can be sure that we will try. Thank you to everyone who gave feedback and the tremendous help I got regarding IDs.
The blue-winged teal is a species of bird in the duck, goose, and swan family Anatidae. One of the smaller members of the dabbling duck group, it occurs in North America, where it breeds from southern Alaska to Nova Scotia, and south to northern Texas. It winters along the Pacific and Atlantic coasts and south into the Caribbean islands and Central America.
