Marsh Marigold - Caltha palustris
A perennial, herbaceous plant with heart or kidney-shaped leaves and thick, hollow stems that will bear yellow flowers.
Consuming large quantities of this plant may cause convulsions, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and fainting. Contact of the skin with the plant's juices can cause blistering.
Habitat: Hardwood swamp; This swamp has lots of ducks and interesting vegetation. But, it also has a lot of leeches.
"Caltha palustris", known as marsh-marigold and kingcup, is a small to medium size perennial herbaceous plant of the buttercup family, native to marshes, fens, ditches and wet woodland in temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It flowers between April and August, dependent on altitude and latitude, but occasional flowers may occur at other times.
