The white-whiskered laughingthrush or Formosan laughing thrush is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is endemic to montane forests of the island of Taiwan.

Anyway, this was a delightful encounter, as there were a group of these guys that hung out by a little mountain (around 2600 masl) and were very accustomed to people. This one actually hopped onto the bench next to me and ate a few almonds from my hands! Posted 6 years ago, modified 6 years ago
