Common Eastern Velvet Ant (Dasymutilla occidentalis)
At the disturbed edge of a dense mixed forest.
We are officially in the middle of our move, and my body has decided that I need to be sidelined by a summer cold. I've been stuck in bed since late Thursday, so Jason has been sending me photos of things around the camper in the meantime. Isn't he the best?
Excuse the cell-phone quality photo!
