Agreeable Tiger Moth - Spilosoma congrua Total length: ~15 mm. Forewings were white with dark spots in the PM and ST areas. Abdomen was completely white with no spots. Coxa and femur of forelegs were orange.<br />

    1. Thanks! I don't usually see them with such dark spots and initially thought it could be S. dubia. But, the underside and white abdomen seems to confirm S. congrua. Posted 6 years ago

The agreeable tiger moth is one of three species of white tiger moth which are common in the United States. It has pronounced black eyes, white abdomen, and orange "bib" which set it apart from its cousin the Virginia tiger moth. Like its cousin, it tents its wings when as at rest.
