Eastern Box Turtle - Terrapene carolina carolina

This turtle did NOT want to be friends. In fact, I don't think it liked me at all. Terrapene carolina carolina is a species of special concern in Connecticut.

The eastern box turtle (Terrapene carolina carolina) is a subspecies within a group of hinge-shelled turtles, normally called box turtles. T. c. carolina is native to the eastern part of the United States.
